"Utes Huus" is named after our mother, Ute Carstensen, who was a native of the island and spent her childhood in Wyk on Föhr. The photo shows Ute and me when I was a child. Our mother, Ute, was incredibly proud to call Föhr her home and spent her summers with us as children every year on the beaches of Wyk. Even today, we fondly remember walking past the Westfalenklinik on the sandwall. The current "Utes Huus" was built in 1971 by our grandfather, Friedrich Carstensen, also known as "Fiete." After her death in 1992, our mother inherited the house, which we had always used as a family. In 2020, we decided to extensively renovate the house and breathe new life into it. It required a lot of love and care. After almost three years of intensive work, the house was finally ready to open as a vacation home in 2024. Unfortunately, our mother didn't live to see this moment, but we're sure she would have been delighted to have a house full of guests. The house is named after her to convey the charm she brought to the island and the family. We hope you feel as comfortable in "Utes Huus" as we do and enjoy the warmth and relaxation that the island of Föhr has to offer. Welcome home!
Hello,
nice that you stopped by!
We are very pleased about your interest in “Utes Huus”.
Föhr is a truly beautiful island that is worth exploring.
Since our mother Ute came from Föhr and my parents met there, I was able to spend many summer holidays there as a child. It was always a very happy time for me—even today, whenever I'm there.
In any case, I wish you a wonderful discovery.
Kind regards
Svenja
